Bride's Gown, Groom's Barong, Entourage's Dresses

As shared before, my gown and the dresses of my entourage were made by Myke Perfecto and his team. I didn't bother looking for another supplier since I was satisfied with his work and I do recommend him to friends and family members so alangan naman na hindi siya yung kunin ko di ba?

My rating: senyumsenyum

We were pressed for time as I had only 3 months to prepare for the wedding. Admittedly, I wasn't able to focus on the details anymore. I don't think I was able to communicate clearly my preferences. It's only now that I realize that I should have been more specific.

Bride's Gown
  • liked the detail at the waist area
  • also liked the off-shoulder style and the material; however, i wish now that the back part was attached to the gown itself as it kept on moving up
  • to be honest, i would have preferred a different shape for the skirt. i was expecting something like an A-line (correct me please if i'm wrong) skirt or a ball gown skirt. i was kind of surprised with the mermaid shape when i put on the petticoat.
  • gown still turned out simple and elegant - the way I wanted it

Groom's Barong
  • perfect! Joe had no complaints!

Entourage's Dresses
  • we could have been more creative with the designs even if we were restricted by the conservative dress code of the church

Lola's Dress
  • Nanay loved her dress!

Shoes and Bag
  • so loved my yellow shoes and yellow onion bag!!!love

Overall, everything turned out ok given the short preparation time. Pulido and malinis ang gawa ni Kuya Myke. senyum He doesn't really design so be specific with the look and the details that you want to avoid miscommunication and regrets. kenyit

Our Reception Venue

Our reception was held at Monte di Portofino Clubhouse, Portofino Heights along Daang Hari.

My rating: senyum

We had no major problems with our contact here. We were able to hold the reception there even if we had no sponsor. kenyit One thing that I liked about this venue is that they only allow one event per day. Walang ibang tao plus hindi masikip.

We originally rented out their ballroom. Unfortunately, our expected number of guests grew and according to our caterer, all of them would not fit inside. One option was to set up some tables outside, which I didn't want. To ensure that guests will not feel left out, we opted to have the reception at the poolside area. That would have been cheaper but we didn't bother getting a refund anymore.

Our Ceremony Venue

As I have mentioned in one of my previous posts, St. Jerome was really not our first choice. But it turned out ok na rin because what really matters is that Joe and I are finally married. senyum

My rating:xpasti (so-so)

I opted for St. Jerome because I wasn't into big churches. I wanted an intimate wedding and I didn't want to feel na aalog-alog kami sa church.jelir Look at the picture below. Mukhang puno naman di ba? kenyit

They were affordable also though they had an accredited florist and you just had to choose among their packages. We were aiming for simplicity so we just chose the basic arrangement plus I wanted the door to be decorated. Unfortunately, we were not able to clarify the closing of the door before the bridal march. With the arch of flowers, it was not possible to close the door. Syempre, we found out lang on the day itself na. I was just so happy I didn't care anymore. Pero sayang sana yung effect.

Some other problems that we encountered:

1) Strict with the dress code (I think if you will bring your won priest, pwede makalusot yung mga tube and spag strap dresses)- bawal daw sleeveless and mga revealing styles. I wasn't into wearing shrugs or boleros so we decided on an off-shoulder design. Initially, hindi din daw pwede yun! I almost broke down because my gown was almost finished at that time! Well, to the rescue ang aking ever reliable husband. He talked to the priest mismo and guess what! Yung priest pa mismo yung nagsabi sa akin na ok na daw yung gown ko. Ang galing talaga ni Joe! sengihnampakgigi

2) Minsan medyo masungit yung parish secretary - well pwede palagpasin yung mga comments nya so I will not elaborate on this anymore.

3) Soloist was so difficult to contact - I think her name was Sugar. Even our coordinator got stressed with her! Ang tagal niya sumagot sa email, texts and calls. When we finally got a hold of her, dagdag problema pa because hindi daw nila alam yung ibang songs na gusto ko. I didn't want to choose from their usual line up kasi common songs na plus wala namang significance sa amin ni Joe. My mother in law was able to find a back up but since it was a day before our wedding already, she wasn't able to study the songs na. sedih Yung bridal march ko tuloy and even the processional song were canned music. No one told me na ganun na nga. I guess they didn't want me to be stressed anymore.
